Location | The church of Maria van Jesse ("Virga Jesse") is located at the Burgwal, in the historic centre of Delft, near the Markt square. The entrance of the chapel of Our Lady is next to the church, at the Jozefstraat.

Monument | The Roman Catholic Maria of Jesse church was built between 1875 and 1882, then as St Joseph's church. The building was designed in the style of the gothic revival by the architect Everard Margry, one of the first and most productive students of Dr Pierre Cuypers. Since 1982 this church is a national monument, not at least because of its original interior.
